    Established in 1980, the Association of Irish Choirs (AOIC) is the national organisation charged with the development of choral practice in Ireland. The AOIC will rebrand to operate as Sing Ireland (SI) from early 2019.

    The AOIC/SI is looking for exceptional individuals to join their voluntary Board of Directors to supplement the existing skill base. 

    Essential Skills / Experience
    In order to ensure the correct skill mix and competencies on the Board, the AOIC invites applications from suitably qualified candidates who consider they have a career history which demonstrates at least one of the following competencies:

    ·        Entrepreneurship and Income Generation

    ·        Philanthropic Funding

    ·        Organisational Change and Growth

    ·        Business/Finance Expertise

    Desirable Skills/Experience
    • Knowledgeable about and interested in the work of the AOIC
    • A demonstrated awareness and understanding of the environment within which the Board will function i.e. singing and not-for-profit arts sectors
    • Previous Board experience

    Term and Rules of Rotation: The company constitution states that a Director must offer their resignation at the end of a three year term. He/she may be re-elected for a second term of three years. The maximum a director can serve consecutively is two terms.

    Meetings: There are generally 6 meetings a year and these may take place on a Sunday. There are also several Board sub-committees that Directors can serve on as appropriate.
