RTÉ requires an experienced, dynamic and highly motivated Chorus Master to lead and inspire its Philharmonic Choir in the next stage of its development. This is a rare opportunity for a person of exceptional musical talent to make a significant input into shaping the future direction of the choir.

The RTÉ Philharmonic Choir was formed in 1985, currently has 160 auditioned members and is the leading exponent of symphonic choral repertoire in Ireland. The Choir rehearses weekly in Dublin during the season (Wednesday evenings, Sept – May) with additional rehearsals during concert weeks and occasional Saturday workshops. It performs up to six programmes per season, usually with the RTÉ National Symphony Orchestra in the National Concert Hall,  working with internationally renowned conductors and soloists, broadcasting on RTÉ’s Radio and Television services, the EBU and recording regularly for RTÉ lyric fm.

The Chorus Master will report to the General Manager of the RTÉ NSO and ideally the successful candidate should be available to start from November 2018.

Interested individuals should submit details of their experience outlining their suitability for the provision of the services of Chorus Master to the RTÉ NSO General Manager    - anthony.long@rte.ie

Closing date for receipt of applications is Sunday 9 September 2018.
