Irish Youth Choir Alumni Chloe Kiely Joins The World Youth Choir 2018

IYC and AOIC would like to congratulate and wish Chloe Kiely who is a final year student in CIT Cork School of Music the best of luck as she travels to Inner Mongolia with the World Youth Choir this July. The choir will have an intense rehearsal in Hohhot before embarking on a tour through Inner Mongolia, Beijing, and Guizhou province. The tour will end with the choir singing at the opening ceremony of China’s 14th International Chorus Festival in Beijing. The choir will be under conduction of Helene Stureborg and Jonathan Velasco.

Chloe said “following the audition process, the wait for the results was extremely nerve wracking! When I first heard, I was completely shocked, but now I just can’t wait until July to start my journey, sing a diverse range of music, and meet all these like-minded singers from across the world”.

An alumnus of CIT Cork School of Music, Chloe is currently studying voice under Robert Craig and has been a member of the Irish Youth Choir for a number of years. This has given her an opportunity to sing with many groups across Ireland and further afield such as Irish Youth Chamber Choir, Madrigal ’75, Eurochoir and the Choir of St. Fin Barre’s Cathedral.

As a keen soloist, Chloe has recently performed with the East Cork Choral Society, and is currently preparing her final undergraduate recital, specialising in contemporary music. Later this year, Chloe will begin further training with Sylvia O’Brien at the Royal Irish Academy of Music in Dublin, and will undertake a new role as soprano choral scholar at Christ Church Cathedral, Dublin. uses cookies to analyse traffic through the site and help us improve user experience.
