Europa Cantat 2018
Tallin, Estonia, July 27th to August 5th 2018. The motto of the festival is „A Million Ways To Sing“, which draws parallels with one million Estonians, who everyone has a story or a song to share. Singers around the world can share their ways of singing in social media, but the way #1 will always be "#1 Sing on the 100th anniversary of Estonia"
EUROPA CANTAT, initiated by the European Choral Association - Europa Cantat is one of the central meeting points of the choral world, which has been organized from 1961. The festival is held every three years and the last one was in Pécs 2015.
This unique festival brings together more than 4000 singers, conductors, composers and choral managers from Europe and beyond for 10 days of singing delight.
The festival is not only for choir singers. All possible vocal genres are represented: experimental, musicals and film music, oratorios, folk music, romantic and modern music, early music, jazz, gospel, etc. There will be 100 concerts in Tallinn and in Estonia during the festival, which is a birthday gift from the musicians and singers to Estonia.
Music EXPO is a conventional part of the festival, where publishers, international festival organisers and music managers from all over the world invite you to see their products and to become familiar with the services they offer.
One of the highlights of the festival is the choir concert for Estonia's 100th Anniversary on the Song Celebration Grounds, where the festival choirs sing and celebrate the big birthday. Everybody is welcomed to join!

The festival offers you the chance to:
- attend different workshops for choirs and singers, with a duration of 4 to 8 days
- sing and hear all vocal genres: classical, folk, jazz, musical, opera and vocal pop
- discover rare jewels of choral music
- work together with leading choral conductors
- sing at beginner’s, average or advanced level
- join the special conductors’ or composers’ program
- join our special “training-on-the-job” program for young managers, the Youth Event Management Programme YEMP
- take part in the daily ‘Open Singing’ with all participants and visitors
- join a workshop while your children are entertained
- discover the unique cultural heritage of Tallinn and Estonia
- get to know other choirs and singers from many different countries!
The Conductors’ and Composers’ Program offers warm-ups, seminars, reading sessions, workshops, lectures, round-table discussions and composers’ showcase.
Open Singing is a singing event where EVERYBODY is invited to sing. The repertoire is international, in different styles and languages.
