“A High Lonesome Bluegrass Mass:  Come Away to the Skies”?

Georgia Canto Choir will perform in St. Mary’s Church of Ireland, Tipperary on Thursday 28th December at 7.30pm together with local Trad group The Badgers. This is a free concert with a collection in support of: Circle of Friends Cancer Support Centre Tipperary Town.

?Conductors: Sandra Chandler, Kevin Hibbard

The Choir will be joined by Tim Sharp on Banjo and LeAndra Douds on Harp.  The highlight of the concert is A High Lonesome Bluegrass Mass – a collection of folk-hymn arrangements originating from Irish-Scottish migration into the Appalachian areas of the American south.

The Choir is from Alexander High School in Douglasville, Georgia, USA and will be touring Ireland from 27th December until 3rd January.  As it is their first tour outside the US, we hope they will be given a warm welcome by everyone.
