    Youth focus for choral music in Ireland

    The Association of Irish Choirs (AOIC) is delighted to announce that it will host a National Youth Choral Meeting at the Studio of the National Concert Hall. The meeting is on foot of recent developments for the Association in youth choral activity.

    Raeghnya Zutshi, the newly appointed AOIC youth representative board member said  “The Association is pleased to hold an open meeting to seek the views and involve as many stakeholders as possible in the future direction of youth choral practice in Ireland. We are excited at the opportunity to present some plans to attendees and to hear input on the various possibilities for the development of youth choral activity for AOIC.”

    The Meeting on April 9th will comprise of panel discussions, a facilitated open forum, and performances from youth choirs. The meeting will be facilitated by Susan Coughlan, an experienced and inspiring meeting facilitator with a background in the arts and organisational development. The panel discussion and facilitated open forum will allow for the input of those present in the future direction of AOIC youth choral policy and help inform the work of the Association.

    The meeting, which will take place at the National Concert Hall, Dublin (Studio), is free and places are available by emailing aoic@ul.ie. Places are limited.  

    The meeting will commence at 1pm and conclude at 4.30pm on Sunday, 9th April 2017.
