AOIC will be represented at the American Choral Directors Association 2017 Conference
The Association of Irish Choirs is delighted to be represented at the American Choral Directors Association (ACDA) 2017 Conference in Minneapolis. The Association is representing Irish choral practice and music at the Conference.
Dr. Anne Barry, will attend the conference, which takes place from 8-11 March, and form part of the Choral Ireland showcase on the Friday, 10 March as part of the conference. AOIC will also co-host the Choral Ireland stand throughout the conference, in partnership with the Contemporary Music Centre and University Concert Hall, Limerick. Dr. Barry will lead delegates in a sing-through of a selection of choral music from Ireland and, on behalf of the Choral Ireland partners, will give a vibrant presentation on contemporary choral music from Ireland.
Speaking about the Choral Ireland showcase and AOIC’s partners, Dermot O’Callaghan CEO said
‘The Association of Irish Choirs represents Irish choral practice and practitioners and is delighted to have the opportunity to do that at the largest conference for choral director’s in the United States: the ACDA National Conference in Minnealpolis. The Association will showcase and promote the music it houses in the Cumann Náisiúnta na gCór catalogue along with the Choirland anthology which was produced in partnership with the Contemporary Music Centre and Chamber Choir Ireland. ’
