Enniscorthy Choral Society

Enniscorthy Choral Society is a community based choir founded in 1993 under the musical direction of Donagh Wylde who has continued to direct us to the present day. We are a mixed voice choir (SATB) and perform in local venues of all denominations. We have always travelled to Competitions and continue to do so, our last outing being to Sligo International Music Festival. We have also travelled abroad and have sung in Prague, Vienna and Wales on numerous occasions. We are about 40 members and we practice every Monday night  at 8.00 in Colaiste Brid in Enniscorthy. New members are always welcome subject to audition.

Other performances include Schubert’s Mass in F,  Stainer’s Crucifixion,  Bach’s St. Luke’s Passion,  Karl Jenkins’s  The Armed Man,  G.F Handel’s Messiah and a concert of Favourite Opera Choruses and Solos .We performed Requiem by Gabriel Fauré in 2015 and in 2016 Gounod’s Mass of St. Cecilia. But we have a lighter side too, performing anything from Gershwin to Leonard Cohen to John Denver to Queen and anything in between.

We are about 50 members and we rehearse every Monday evening 8.00 - 9.30 p.m. in St. Mary’s Secondary School, The Irishtown, and New Ross. New members are always welcome.

Wexford Chamber Choir

Founded in 2015 by Markéta Malcova,  singing teacher of 'Scuola del Canto Libero' ( and musician and composer Nick Day (, Wexford Chamber Choir’s repertoire ranges from medieval to contemporary, à cappella and accompanied sacred music, as well as various secular pieces.  Choir members currently include second and third-level students, as well as adults through to seniors. Several choir members are also studying with, or have graduated from, Markéta’s ‘Scuola del Canto Libero’, while some also participate in a Baroque Opera Workshop conducted in recent years in the Czech Republic. The key consideration in selection of choir members is that all voices blend and balance. Choir members rehearse together usually weekly, with more intense preparation as required in advance of concert and/or church recitals.

AOIC is awaiting further information for the following member choirs in Wexford:
