The Millicent Singers
The Millicent Singers are fast becoming one of the best known & most highly respected choirs in Ireland. The past two years have seen the choir achieve five first-place finishes & two second-place finished in National & International Choral Festivals. There are few choirs in Ireland that can match the success that The Millicent Singers have enjoyed of late, all of which is under the direction of their musical director Alan Kelly, voice-coach Tony Norton, & drama facilitator Emma Coogan.
Kildare County Council's Arts Office have also provided key funding to the choir over the past two years, which has allowed the choir to work with leading professionals in developing technique. An invitation to perform with Celine Byrne on RTE TV last June & an invitation to perform in the National Concert Hall in August have also come the way of the choir in recent months.
The choir comprises 38 members at present who come from Clane, Prosperous, Naas & surrounding areas.
