The Irish Youth Choir is a high level, auditioned choir which meets at least once a year for intensive rehearsal and performance opportunities.

Singers aged between 18 and 28 come together for a 10-day educational experience which equips them with essential musical and personal skills. Concert performances round off the week's activities, giving singers a sense of real pride in their achievements.

IYC offers music educational opportunities, such as the Conductor-in-Training position, classes in sight singing and musicianship, masterclasses for conductors, guidance in vocal production as well as equipping singers with important life skills such as leadership, teamwork and citizenship.

Made up of Ireland's finest young singers aged from 18 to 28, the Irish Youth Choir meets annually for a main intensive rehearsal course in the summer under the expert tuition of the Artistic Director, Greg Beardsell, and a team of tutors and vocal coaches. test

JOIN IYC
Choir members are selected following auditions held annually in a number of centres nationwide. Following successful audition, membership lasts for two years, after which time the singer must re-audition.
