Irish Youth Choir in Loughrea Abbey 25th October
The Irish Youth Choir, under the direction of Artistic Director Greg Beardsell, gave a performance of Generation Now on Sunday 25th October at 3pm.The concert also featured a performance by the Carmelite Abbey Youth Choir.
Generation Now is an exploration of works by the generation now composers from Ireland, England, Scotland, Hungary, Poland, Lithuania and the US and proves that music written in the last 50 years can be both challenging and accessible, avant-garde yet relevant, beautiful and energetic.
Composers include Allain, Dove, Hanlon, Hogan, Lauridsen, Lukaszewski, MacMillan, McGlynn, Miskinis, Orbán, O’Regan, Paulus, Whitacre.
