IYC residential course and concerts a triumph!
Folowing its residential rehearsal week in the Universty of Limerick, the Irish Youth Choir performed Generation Now, in St Canice's Cathedral, Kilkenny and the National Gallery, Dublin. The a cappella programme by 'generation now' composers from Ireland, England, Scotland, Hungary, Poland, Lithuania and the US was extremely well receive, proving that music written in the last 50 years can be both challenging and accessible, avant-garde yet relevant, beautiful and energetic.
We are hoping to arrange some more performances later in the year, so watch this space.
