Made up of Ireland's finest young singers aged from 18 to 28, the Irish Youth Choir meets annually for a main intensive rehearsal course in the summer under the expert tuition of the Artistic Director, Greg Beardsell, and a team of tutors and vocal coaches. The week culminates in a number of performances by the choir.
The Irish Youth Choir's 30th anniversary summer course will take place from Saturday 23 June - Sunday 1st July 2012. Concert details will be available soon, but the choir's summer tour will conclude with a performance in St Patrick's Cathedral, Dublin.
A central element of the concert will be the presentation of a new work which will be written specially for the choir with support from the Arts Council's New Music Commission Scheme.
