Co. Sligo Golf Club Male Voice Choir

The choir was formed in 1993 under the musical directorship of Mrs. Sheila Crowley and was the first Male Voice Choir to be formed out of a golf club. It's members and musical director are all members of the Co.Sligo Golf Club at Rosses Point, Co.Sligo. Due to the golfing season they only practice weekly in the golf club from the end of September to Easter. They have participated in choral festivals throughout Ireland and Great Britain and in Barcelona. They recently competed in the Cornwall Male Voice Choir Festival. They have won at many of these festivals and won the overall prize at the North Wales Choral Festival in 2008. The released their CD “Stout Hearted Men” in 2005. The Choir hosts Christmas and Spring Concerts and have raised over €60000 for charity.

Sligo Orpheus Choir

Sligo Orpheus Choir is a friendly organisation drawn from all sections of the community, dedicated to encouraging the musical talents of members at every level of ability. Membership of the choir is open to anyone who loves to sing, wishes to expand his or her musical repertoire, and wants to become a better choral singer. Rehearsals are Tuesday nights 7.30 to 9.15 Ballinode College, Clarion Road, Sligo.
