Initiatives
The Association of Irish Choirs (AOIC) undertakes new initiatives and embraces partnerships with a number of key organisations in order to increase participation in choral singing and to fulfill its mission - Enhancing life through choral music.
2008 saw the first of such partnership initiatives with the establishment of the National Choral Singing Day on World Mental Health Day, October 10th. Following the success of this first event, the initiative was extended to a week of events. This year's National Choral Singing Week will run from 8 - 16 October 2011. READ MORE
In 2010, AOIC developed a partnership with Bealtaine in the development of the Dawn Chorus, designed to bring choirs and active retirement groups together. Now in its second year, following a month of regular rehearsals, the groups performed together on waterfront settings across the country at dawn on Sunday 29 May 2011. READ MORE
